What are EPS Foam Core Sandwich Panels?
EPS Sandwich Panel is a composite material consisted of 2 layers of aluminium sheets bonded to an EPS foam core.
EPS foam is Expanded Polystyrene, it’s ultra-light weight foam that is cheap but has good thermal & acoustic insulation property.
When it laminated with metal skins such as color coated aluminium or PPGI steel sheets, it becomes a nice looking, flat & high strength sandwich panel.
Features of EPS Foam Core Sandwich Panels:
- EPS foam core sandwich panel is very light weighted, the EPS foam is made from crystal polystyrene with more than 90% of air. So EPS sandwich panel is easy to carry & handle.
- EPS sandwich panel is a very affordable & inexpensive material, as it consumes just little polystyrene.
- EPS sandwich panel has good thermal insulation property, because EPS structure is closed cell & has very low water absorb ratio, making it difficult to conduct heat.
Applications of EPS Foam Core Sandwich Panels:
- Architectural purposes. EPS sandwich panel is used as roofing panel, wall panels for houses or buildings.
- Cold storage purposes. EPS sandwich panel is used for cold room, freezing room, professing room etc for its good thermal insulation property.
